A new TMS Procedure Note type is now available in the EHR, offering Psychiatry providers a more efficient and structured workflow for documenting TMS treatment sessions. This enhancement supports accurate session recording and aligns with TMS billing and specialty-specific documentation standards.

What’s New

Dedicated TMS Procedure Note Type

Providers can now document TMS treatment sessions using a structured TMS Procedure Note, designed specifically to capture essential stimulation parameters—including Coil Placement, Frequency, Intensity, and Number of Pulses per Train.

Previously, these details were entered manually in the HPI or through a questionnaire, resulting in repetitive typing and inconsistent documentation across daily sessions.

The new note type offers a clearer, more efficient, and standardized way to record each TMS treatment.

Why This Matters

TMS sessions often occur daily, and accurate parameter recording is essential for clinical clarity, continuity of care, and billing. The new note type:

  • Streamlines psychiatry workflows with structured TMS session documentation
  • Reduces repetitive manual entry, improving speed and accuracy
  • Supports billing compliance by standardizing required parameters
  • Improves documentation quality across TMS encounters
