Upgrade Documentation with Note Attachments

The note attachment feature simplifies adding and handling attachments to the patient note. This functionality makes it easier for healthcare providers to manage patient documentation.

In the new Add More Attachments section of the Attachments tab of an open note, providers can now attach files directly in the EMR note. This user guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of viewing, attaching, and managing attachments in the EMR note.

Add Attachments to an EMR Note

Patient Note > Attachments > Add More Attachments.

1. From the patient’s list of EMR Notes,  select the note in which you want to attach a file to, and then Open Note.

2. From the patient note, click Attachments.

3. Click Add More Attachments and select between the following:

  • Browse Files from your local device and upload them in the current note.

Note: Acceptable file formats are gif, jpeg, jpg, png and pdf.

  • Select from EMR Documents to add relevant documents that are already associated with the patient’s record.

View the Attached Files in the EMR Note

Patient Note > Attachments > Current Note Attachments.

1. The attached files can be viewed as a Note Attachment in the EMR Documents. Attachments from EMR documents can also be viewed in the Current Note Attachments. To view attachments, click on the applicable item.

2. All attached files will be displayed in the Attachments section of a signed note once viewed from the View Note and View All Notes option.

Note: Attached files are also displayed when emailing or faxing a patient note.

Manage Attachments in the EMR Note

Files can be managed and removed from the note by clicking the Remove next to the attachment.
