We are excited to announce the release of a significant enhancement to our payment processing capabilities in the EHR. Understanding the evolving needs of our clients, we have focused on enabling greater flexibility and efficiency in handling transactions through multiple payment points of sale per location with the Global Payments Integration.
- Operate multiple payment terminals concurrently across various desks or windows.
- Shorten customer wait times and streamline the payment process.
- Reduce the impact of a single device’s downtime with multiple devices in operation.
Setup and Configuration
Under Billing > Credit Card Setup (GPI), we have added new fields that allow you to configure multiple device IDs. This feature streamlines the setup process, ensuring a smooth integration of additional payment terminals into your system.
User to Device Assignment
A new section called Assigned Devices has been added to the Edit Resource Information > Permissions page. This intuitive interface displays a list of device IDs and enables easy assignment or reassignment of users to specific devices. The same device can now be assigned to multiple users within the same location, provided they don’t have other device assignments. If a user does not have a device assigned, they will not be able to perform credit card transactions using GPI. This setting can be updated and changed as needed by anyone with the administrative permission to edit and save.
To view the correct device ID
- Power on your device
- Press the “0” key three times
- Enter in the passcode “9416557”
- View the “Admin Overview” page
- Scroll down to “Cloud Device ID: cedevice::”
Tip: We recommend writing the device ID on a small piece of paper and taping it to the back of the device for easy reference.
If there is only one device per location, that will be set as the default device for all users.
