Practice Settings
Practice Settings provides you with the flexibility to manage and customize various features and functionalities essential to your practice. You can enable or disable specific tools and options to tailor your practice management system to meet your unique needs and preferences. Whether it’s adjusting administrative controls, configuring patient-facing features, or customizing clinical workflows, the Practice Settings serves as a central hub for optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of your practice operations.

Functions
- # OF LOGIN ATTEMPTS – Configures the maximum number of login attempts allowed per user.
- SESSION TIMEOUT – Determines the duration of inactivity allowed for users before the system initiates an automatic logout.
- PASSWORD PATTERN – Format options for password.
- PASSWORD MINIMUM LENGTH – Specifies the minimum number of characters necessary for a password to meet security requirements.
- PASSWORD CAPITAL LETTER – Specifies the minimum number of uppercase letters necessary for a password to meet security requirements.
- PASSWORDS MAY NOT BE RE-USED WITHIN – Sets the duration for which a password can be reused.
- SYSTEM USERS MAY NOT RE-USE ANY OF THEIR LAST – Specifies the maximum number of times an old password can be reused.
- EMR NOTE SHARING – Determines the patient’s note-sharing preferences.
- Private – Default option. All notes cannot be automatically shared with another practice treating the same patient.
- Shared – All notes can be shared with other practices within WRS only upon patient request
- SECURITY LOGS – Select to display the level of audit trail logging for user actions, access attempts, and modifications, ensuring data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations.
- PRACTICE WEBSITE – Select to grant access to the practice website in the system.
- PATIENT ACCESS TO TEST RESULTS ON PATIENT PORTAL – Controls patients’ access to test results on the portal
- PATIENT ACCESS TO APPOINTMENT & REQUEST HISTORY ON PATIENT PORTAL – Controls patients’ ability to view their appointment history on the patient portal.
- PATIENT ACCESS TO VIEW SUMMARY ON APPOINTMENT HISTORY ON PATIENT PORTAL – Controls patients’ access to their appointment history, including patient notes, for a specified date of service (DOS).
- DO NOT ALLOW PATIENTS TO EDIT PHR AFTER ANY NOTE CREATION – This prohibits patients from making changes to their Personal Health Record (PHR), such as medications or allergies.
- DO NOT ALLOW PATIENTS TO REGISTER VIA PATIENT PORTAL – Switches the Register Here button on the patient portal, granting patients the option to independently create their own patient accounts.
- 1-CLICK/MULTIPLE CLAIM SUBMISSION – Controls the capability for selecting multiple claims to be transmitted to the clearinghouse.
- CPT SUPERBILL LEVEL – Controls the level of CPT Superbill displayed on the Orders and Procedures page.
- Practice Level – Displays all CPT superbill options created for the entire practice.
- User Customized – Shows CPT superbill options customized exclusively for a specific user.
- SPECIMEN COLLECTED AT – Specifies the site where specimen samples are gathered for laboratory testing.
- Draw Station – Specimen is drawn at the lab facility.
- Practice – Specimen is drawn at the practice.
- PATIENT REGISTRATION – Specifies the mandatory fields during patient registration based on different configurations:
- Complete – Requires all fields except SSN.
- Portal-Compliant – Requires all fields except Street Address, Zip, and SSN.
- Quick – Requires all fields except Email Address, Street Address, Zip, and SSN.
- INCLUDE PRACTICE LOCATION & ROOM NUMBER ON PATIENT REGISTRATION – Select to display practice location and room number fields during patient registration
- INCLUDE PRACTICE LOCATION ON PATIENT SEARCH – Select to include the practice location field in Patient Search.
- PATIENT CHECK IN MODULE – INSURANCE – Select to display the Insurance page in the Patient Check-in Module.
- PATIENT CHECK IN MODULE – REVIEW OF SYSTEMS – Select to include the Review of Systems questions section in the Patient Check-in Module.
- CLINICAL DECISION SUPPORT ALERT – Controls prompts and reminders aiding healthcare providers in adhering to evidence-based clinical guidelines during patient care delivery.
