Items in This Release
- Configurable Eligibility Benefit Categories
We are pleased to announce an enhancement that allows practices to include specialty-specific eligibility modifiers in their 270 eligibility requests, enabling more detailed insurance benefit information to be retrieved directly within the EHR.
What’s new
- Practices can now select one or more eligibility modifiers (such as Mental Health, Audiology, OB/GYN, Dermatology and others) that apply to their eligibility checks.
- Selected modifiers are used automatically for the practice’s future eligibility requests.
- If no modifiers are selected, the system continues to send general eligibility only—no behavior change.
Why it Matters
- Enables retrieval of more precise, specialty-level insurance benefits.
- Reduces the need for manual payer verification and follow-up.
- Improves front-desk efficiency, scheduling accuracy, and financial transparency.
- Supports multi-specialty practices with varying coverage needs.
How to Configure in EHR
- Log in to your practice account.
- Navigate to Practice Administration → Billing Setup → Practice Revenue Codes.
- Go to the Add Practice 270 Eligibility Modifiers section.

- Select one or more modifiers to enable, then click Add.
- Selected modifiers will appear in the Existing Practice 270 Eligibility Modifiers list at the bottom of the page.
- To remove a modifier, select it from the list and click Delete.
NOTES
- No changes in the workflow.
- Settings apply at the practice level and can be updated at any time.
