We’re excited to introduce Medications 2.0—a smarter, faster, and more intuitive medication management experience built directly into the WRS Health EHR.

Designed with clinical workflows in mind, Medications 2.0 enables providers to confidently prescribe and understand a patient’s medication list before the visit even begins.

This is more than a design update—it’s a smarter, safety-focused prescribing experience that reduces risk, saves time, and actively engages patients in their care.

 

From Legacy to Smarter Transitioning to Medications 2.0 

The new Medications 2.0 page will automatically be added to all note formats that currently include a Medications section beginning April 7, 2025. We strongly encourage all users to begin working with Medications 2.0 immediately.

To ensure a smooth transition:

  • Practices will initially have access to both the new and legacy Medications views.
  • If any issues arise, users can temporarily revert to the old page through an in-note toggle.

 

Why It Matters

We didn’t just update the interface—we rethought the prescribing experience from the ground up.

Medications 2.0 helps you:

  • Walk into every patient visit with a complete, clear medication list
  • Avoid reconciliation delays and reduce administrative overhead
  • Prescribe with speed, accuracy, and full clinical context
  • Involve patients in creating safer, more up-to-date records

 

This is a smarter clinical experience that puts clarity, confidence, and control back into the hands of providers.

 

What’s New – Features that Deliver Real Clinical Value

Unified Medication List: Patient-Reported + Practice-Entered

For the first time, medications submitted through the Patient Portal are automatically integrated into the Current Medications list—no manual reconciliation needed to view them.

Tip: Encourage patients to update their medications in the Patient Portal before visits. Make sure patient cell phone numbers and email addresses are entered so the portal link can be delivered effectively.

 

Real-Time eRx Status Tracking

Each prescription’s delivery status is now clearly displayed within the note in real time:

You’ll always know where each prescription stands—reducing uncertainty and eliminating follow-up calls.

 

Smart Search for Fast, Safe Prescribing

Medications 2.0 introduces an enhanced Smart Search designed to reduce typing, increase accuracy, and prevent errors—without slowing you down.

This is faster, smarter prescribing—with built-in safety checks and fewer keystrokes.

Personalized Navigation

Flexible interface enhancements:

Intuitive Drag-and-Drop for Faster Medication Edits

Managing medications is now faster and more intuitive:

  • Move medications across sections: External Medications, Current Note, Current Medications, Allergies, Archives
  • Visual indicators guide placement for ease and accuracy
  • Bulk selection supported for group edits

 

No dropdowns—just drag, drop, done.

 

Important:

The legacy Medications page will no longer be supported before the end of Q2 2025. We recommend adopting the new experience now to minimize disruptions and fully benefit from future enhancements.
